Why Ajwa Dates and Honey?
Ajwa dates are very special dates in Islam. We believe they are the dates that will be found in Paradise so for us, it's a taste of something straight from Heaven right down here on Earth which is such a blessing!
Abu Huraiyah narrated that the Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "Ajwa (dates) is from Paradise and it contains a cure for poison." [Sunan At-Tirmidhi]
Ajwa Dates are used as a form of protection from the harm and evils we as humans face every day. The Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "If somebody takes seven Ajwa dates in the morning, neither magic nor poison will hurt him that day" [Sahih Al-Bukhari].
Dates are a prebiotic food and were used and eaten by our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). They have immense benefits and are very high in fiber and are quite nutritious. In addition, dates may help to regulate your blood pressure and kidney function, may reduce the risk of stroke and may give allergy relief.

Honey is also a very important and special food in Islam. Again, it was used and eaten by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He loved sweet edible things and honey. It's not only a sweet snack but also has amazing benefits. Two of the main reasons I wanted to include honey into my sea moss gel (other than because it's one of the Prophetic foods) but also because honey is used for and may improve memory and it may support gastro-intestinal health!
Az-Zuhri said, "Eat honey because it is good for the memory" [Medicine of the Prophet, Ibn Qayyim].
A man came to the Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) and said, "My brother has some abdominal trouble." Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) responded, "Let him drink honey" [Bukhari, 5684].
